Women solo group travel to Africa

Travel to Africa

Bordered by the Mediterranean in the north and flanked by the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, Africa is Nature’s most spectacular canvas. Home to the Big Five and the world’s last remaining gorillas, Africa also hosts some of the world’s most spectacular marine and wetland systems.

In Africa, rolling hills, endless Savanna grasslands, rain forests, and desert dunes greet the dawn of each day and as the sun sets, it paints the landscapes in startling shades of red.

More than 3,000 languages are spoken in 54 countries on world’s fastest growing continent in terms of population growth. Africa is currently experiencing a youth boom and is also the cradle of mankind.

The African continent nourishes diversity. From Egypt’s ancient wonders to busy Moroccan markets to magnificent wildlife showcased in her vast grasslands and rain forests. Africa offers even the most discerning traveler a cornucopia of delights.

About Africa

Human cultural diversity is an often-overlooked aspect of the vibrant African continent. Here, the dress, crafts, food, language, history, and music and dance are different from country to country. Above all Africa’s brilliant colors and lively sounds stand out.

Egypt, in the north, is home to some of the world’s most iconic structures, offering visitors a journey through time. The Pyramids of Giza, the mysterious Sphinx and the temples of Luxor have long challenged man’s imagination. A cruise down the world’s longest river, the Nile offers insights into Egypt’s ancient history. The Red Sea’s coral reefs beckon curious water lovers.

On Africa’s northwest coast, travelers browse the vibrant Marrakech markets, seeking bargains amongst the exquisite textiles, handmade pottery and aromatic spices. The mixed Arab, Berber and Mediterranean cuisine here is not to be missed.

Further south, “The Smoke That Thunders” is the awe inspiring, Victoria Falls one of the world’s natural wonders separates Zambia and Zimbabwe. Nearby national parks boast exclusive camps with exceptional safaris and wild-life viewing.

In East Africa witness the famous Great Migration, where over a million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles cross the plains in search of fresh grazing. The UNESCO World Heritage site, Ngorongoro Crater, teems with wildlife, including endangered black rhinos, lions, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. This is where Nature shows off her skills.

On the Skeleton Coast of Namibia, the cold Atlantic Ocean cools the desert air. Here, dramatic landscapes with towering dunes and the wildlife rich Etosha National Park draw visitors to experience the serenity. Africa calls!

Faqs about trips to Africa

Visa requirements differ from country to country.

This will depend on the country visited. You will need your regular vaccinations. You may need additional treatments, like Malaria and Yellow Fever vaccinations.

This will depend on which country you’re visiting.

Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted more so than American Express or Discover.

Most people in Africa’s tourism industry speak English.

Tipping is polite in Africa but when one tips a porter or a taxi it’s often far less than the 20% which is now the norm in the US. For each country we visit Girls’ Guide will supply you with a tipping cheat sheet.

Yes but they vary again from country to country.

Trips to Africa Reviews

My second trip with Girls’ Guide to the World! This time it was Safari to Tanzania & Zanzibar with seven adventurous ladies. We saw big game, small game and so many birds in the Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti National Park. We did a hot air balloon ride over the Tarangire Park at sunrise, visited a Maasai Village at the Ngorongoro Crater and we relaxed in Zanzibar where we swam with dolphins and visited a spice farm. The accommodations were top notch in luxury tent camps and boutique hotels and all had excellent food. As a solo female traveler, I really enjoy meeting other adventurous ladies and sharing the experiences on the trip as it creates life long memories and friendships.....

This is the trip of a lifetime. It provides the traveler with a glimpse into the wonders of Morocco, while enjoying beautiful accommodations and amazing food. The connections I made with the other ladies on this trip have continued beyond our departures. I would travel with any one of them again. Our leader was highly competent and dealt with all issues as they arose. It was a highly enjoyable trip.
