Overview
Before the sights come into focus, Morocco speaks in subtler ways. It’s in the soft sweep of a broom across a courtyard floor, the distant call to prayer at dawn, the steam rising from a cup of mint tea. This journey is designed to immerse us in those details, to explore Morocco not just through its monuments but through its rhythms, its textures, and the quiet beauty of daily life. We’ll begin in Casablanca with a taste of cosmopolitan Morocco before continuing to Rabat, the country’s understated capital where wide boulevards and Andalusian gardens reveal a more relaxed rhythm. In the mountain town of Chefchaouen, blue-washed walls glow under shifting light, inviting us to wander without agenda, to pause for fresh cheese and local crafts, and to share lunch in the home of a welcoming family. In Fez, we’ll step inside one of the world’s oldest living medinas. This is a city that resists easy description, filled with contrasts, craftsmanship, and a sense of daily devotion. We’ll explore hidden workshops, visit sacred sites, and try our hand at pottery and cooking alongside those who keep these traditions alive. For those who wish to continue, our extension to Marrakech opens another chapter. Here, history and creativity converge in lush gardens, vibrant souks, and galleries tucked behind unmarked doors. We’ll spend a day in the High Atlas Mountains with an Amazigh guide, learning about life in a village where the past is not preserved in glass but lived. This is not just a trip to Morocco. It is an invitation to experience connection, continuity, and culture in motion.

FAQs
Which airport should I fly into and out of for the trip?
Fly into Casablanca International Airport (CMN).
For the return, if you're not joining the post-trip extension, you can also fly out of Casablanca International Airport (CMN), which is about a 4-hour drive away from our final stop. Because of the long drive, it's best to book a flight that departs in the late afternoon or evening.
If you are joining the post-trip extension, you can fly out of Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) or take a 3-hour drive back to Casablanca Airport (CMN).
When should I arrive?
The trip officially starts on October 31, 2027, but if you're traveling overnight to reach Morocco, consider arriving a day early to relax and adjust to the local time zone. You can also join an optional pre-trip extension in Casablanca if you'd like to explore this fascinating city.
What should I pack?
We'll have a Zoom call about 8 weeks before the trip starts to discuss important logistics and give you packing guidance. In the meantime, here is a great website that we love that will help you with packing and travel trips.
What will the weather be like?
In November, Morocco offers pleasantly mild weather that’s ideal for travel. Days are generally sunny with temperatures ranging from the low 60s to mid-70s Fahrenheit, while evenings can be cooler, especially in the mountains and Fez. A light jacket and layers will keep you comfortable as we move between coastal cities, hilltop villages, and historic medinas.
Do I need a visa to enter Morocco?
Presently, as a U.S. citizen, you do not need a visa to visit Morocco for tourism stays of up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended travel dates.
What is the activity level of this trip?
We require that everyone traveling with Girls' Guide be able to comfortably walk 3–5 miles per day unassisted, and without difficulty, can navigate stairs, uneven streets or paths, and occasional steep terrain. Most of our trips require this level of physical mobility and fitness, especially when visiting historic towns and landmarks where vehicle access is limited and walking often offers the best experience.
Additionally, some of the 4 and 5-star boutique or historic hotels we stay in do not have elevators and may require climbing stairs to get to your room or access other facilities in the hotel.
