Perfect Paris Itineraries
Mon 24 Dec 2012
There are so many ways to experience Paris! For your next trip to the City of Light, here are some creative Paris itineraries that showcase a few of the wonderful partners you can access with the Girls’ Guide to Paris GO-Card and inspire you to get the most from your gg2p membership.
Book a room at le Citizen, an eco-friendly boutique hotel in the trendy canal Saint-Martin neighborhood. If you stay for three nights, you’ll receive a free yoga class in your room! Explore the area with our new canal Saint-Martin trip. If you visit the Pompidou via Easy Pass Trips, you’ll look très chic when you skip the line, and you’ll feel extra VIP when you get a 20 percent discount (or more!). After shopping in the 6th and 7th Arrondissements, stop for a pick-me-up at Coutume Café to enjoy a superb cup of coffee. Get a complimentary bag of coffee beans when you spend over 10 euros. The final stop for the day is la Pharmacie, a traditional French bistro with a hip vibe. It’s the perfect place for dinner, and you may get a surprise treat from the chef!
La Maison Champs Elysées.
For you in-the-know gals, we suggest staying at la Maison Champs Elysées. It’s 100 percent original and 1,000 percent fashionable. Visit Madame à Paris, a terribly French boutique, where you’ll find items with that je ne sais quoi Parisian touch but that won’t break the bank. For dinner head over to the Marais to eat at the trendy and delicious Pamela Popo. With a subscription to France Magazine, you can stay au courant on French life even when you’re back home.
Those looking for the ultimate luxurious Parisian experience should stay at l’Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière. When you book a room, you’ll receive a voucher for 100 euros to spend in the hotel, its spa or its restaurants. For lunch or dinner, head over to la Table du 8 to enjoy phenomenal food and fabulously interesting decor. Parisian chocolates make a great gift for the folks back home, so be sure to visit Fouquet, one of the oldest family-run shops in Paris, to pick up some scrumptious chocolates and to-die-for caramels. If you spend over 30 euros, you’ll receive a special gift of products to taste. Call ahead and have Manuel of Exclusive and Private Trips design a personalized trip for you. You’ll get a backstage pass to Paris and its environs; he has access to places that aren’t open to the public! Before a night out, get your hair done in your hotel room by H&B@Yours. And do not go back home without the ultimate Parisian souvenir—a bespoke pair of pants made by Philippine Janssens. Customizing a pair of pants with her is truly a one-of-a-kind experience.
La Cuisine Paris.
If you’re looking to stretch your euros, try the Taylor, a cozy hotel that’s a real steal in the trendy 10th Arrondissement. Or rent an apartment with Short Time Rental, and enjoy a toast with a complimentary bottle of champagne. Visit the wonderful jewelry store Cécile et Jeanne, where you can take a free trip of the workshop and receive a gift from the designers’ Parisian collection. Then, for something a little different, try an event through Franglish, a fun way to meet real Parisians and practice your French. Enjoy a free glass of wine at the wine bar O Chateau, or expand your palate and try a wine tasting class there. Navigate the twists and turns of the marchés aux puces like a pro with an Antiques Diva trip. The guides are expert negotiators, so you’ll be sure to get the best prices. When you’re ready to eat, try a market trip and cooking class from la Cuisine Paris. It’ll help you continue eating like you’re in Paris even after you’ve returned home.
Girly (Mom and Daughter)
Eye Prefer Paris Trips.
Book a room at the playful and girly Belle Juliette hotel. If you stay for three nights or more, you’ll get fresh roses in your room and complimentary champagne! Have a little fun and explore the city via Segway Trips of Paris. Shop for the best Eiffel Tower souvenirs at les Parisettes. Book the Girls’ Guide shopping trip with Eye Prefer Paris Trips and hit the three major shopping areas in Paris. Make your own perfume with a unique trip from Eva Eriksson Events. Spend the afternoon creating some delicious desserts and pastries at Succulent Paris. After a day of fun, relax at l’Echappée Spa.
Better Paris Photos.
Before your trip begins, order some new lacy panties from Panty by Post. Stay at the romantic and sexy Hôtel Athénée, where you’ll enjoy a free breakfast. With Left Bank Scooters, you and your special someone can trip Paris on a scooter (think Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday). After you’ve fixed your helmet hair, book a photo shoot with Better Paris Photos, a great way to remember your romantic getaway. For a memorable night out, have Just for Two plan something extra special. You’ll also receive a keepsake, because you are a Girls’ Guide to Paris GO-Card member!
Out and About
Enjoy a day in champagne country in Reims with Cook’n with Class and stay at Château d’Etoges, in the heart of the countryside. Rent a car from Auto Europe and explore the rest of the area. If you head to the north, relax by the sea at le Manoir de la Poterie et Spa in Normandy. The complete spa and the more than 270 wines in the restaurant make it a fabulous destination. In Nice, the Hi Hotel is very modern and completely unique. Enjoy two free drinks when you book a room there.
Active and Adventurous
Start with a trip by Fat Tire Bike Trips to enjoy a picnic lunch just outside Paris at one of many beautiful destinations. Visit Rituel Paris, where you can find some inner peace in a yoga or Pilates class, or try the unique gyro classes. After a few days of French food, try some Thai food near the Palais Royal at Baan Boran. When you order lunch or dinner à la carte, you’ll receive a complimentary glass of champagne. Or for something very different, book a meal with VoulezVousDîner to dine in the home of a real Parisian! It’s a great way to make Paris feel smaller and a bit friendlier.
Don’t wait to arrive in Paris to start embracing your Parisian style. Visit Basic French for the French essentials, Maison de Kristine to bring the French countryside into your home and Ancienesthetique for fabulous antique finds without the hassle of bargaining at a flea market. When you arrive in Paris, stay at Pershing Hall, a very cool hotel with easy access to great Parisian shopping. Head to the department store Galeries Lafayette, where, with a personal shopper, a 10 percent discount and a VIP room, you’ll start your shopping adventure on the right foot (or at least with the right shoe). Make a personalized styling appointment at Catherine B to find some vintage Chanel pieces. Take a trip with Les Gentils Pariziens, which will help you discover new designers. When you need a rest from trying on clothes, stop at O’Kari Hammam and Spa to treat yourself to a relaxing massage, a steamy hammam and some tea.
