FAQs

The trip officially starts in the afternoon of October 23rd. If your flight doesn't arrive until later, or you'd like some time to relax and acclimate to the new time zone before the trip begins, you can purchase the Arrive One Day Early option as an extra on our website.

You should fly into and out of Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), which is the starting and ending point of our trip. We've included a flight back to Singapore from Borneo for all guests, whether you're joining the extension or not.

In late October, Singapore enjoys warm, humid weather with occasional brief showers, typical of its tropical climate. Daytime temperatures generally range from 78–90°F (26–32°C), with nights cooling slightly to around 75°F (24°C).

Meanwhile, Borneo experiences similar tropical conditions, with daytime highs around 82–88°F (28–31°C) and evenings dipping to 73–77°F (23–25°C), making it ideal for rainforest treks, wildlife spotting, and island adventures.

We'll have a Zoom call about 8 weeks before the trip starts to discuss important logistics and give you packing guidance. In the meantime, here is a great website that we love that will help you with packing and travel trips.

We require that everyone traveling with Girls' Guide be able to walk 3–5 miles per day unassisted comfortably, and without difficulty, can navigate stairs, uneven streets or paths, and occasional steep terrain. Most of our trips require this level of physical mobility and fitness, especially when visiting historic towns and landmarks where vehicle access is limited and walking often offers the best experience.

Additionally, some of the 4 and 5-star boutique or historic hotels we stay in do not have elevators and may require climbing stairs to get to your room or access other facilities in the hotel.

Presently, U.S. citizens do not need a visa to travel to either Singapore or Malaysia for tourism trips of up to 90 days.

Visit our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page to see answers to most other questions about traveling with Girls' Guide to the World.
