Overview
Nestled beside the glassy waters of Lake Altaussee and surrounded by the Austrian Alps, this intimate retreat is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and put your well-being first. At Mayrlife, considered one of the world’s leading medical health spas, the philosophy centers on gut health as the foundation for overall health, immunity, vitality, and longevity. Each of us will have a private consultation with a Mayrlife doctor, who will oversee individualized assessments, treatments, therapies, and recommendations throughout the retreat. While Mayrlife became widely known after Rebel Wilson began her own health journey here, this experience is about far more than weight loss—we’re focusing on longevity, healthy aging, and feeling our very best for years to come. Between treatments, we’ll wander through storybook alpine villages, take gentle hikes in the mountains, explore stunning Hallstatt, swim in the lake, and savor the restorative beauty of the Salzkammergut region. Most of all, this is a chance to focus on yourself alongside a wonderful group of like-minded women as we share nourishing meals, honest conversations, laughter, reflection, and the little breakthroughs that make a retreat like this so meaningful.

FAQs
What airport should I fly into?
Fly into and out of Salzburg Airport (SLZ), where we'll provide a private transfer upon arrival on August 27, and a group transfer back on September 3.
On August 27, please plan to arrive at the airport no later than 10:30 am to allow adequate time to make it to Mayrlife before our opening sessions.
Upon departure on September 3, plan onward flights after 1 pm from Salzburg.
Many major European hubs offer daily direct flights to Salzburg, including Frankfurt, London, and Berlin.
What day should I arrive?
The trip officially starts on the afternoon of August 27, but if you are traveling across an ocean to get to Austria, consider arriving a day early so you have time to relax and adjust to the local time zone.
If you do decide to arrive early, please let us know in the 'Add-on' section, and we'll handle your hotel reservation so that you don't have to move rooms once the trip starts. Why not join us for a pre-trip adventure in Salzburg before we set off on our wellness journey?
What's the weather like in August?
Late August in Altaussee brings pleasantly cool alpine weather, with daytime temperatures typically around 65–70°F (18–21°C) and evenings dipping to roughly 48–52°F (9–11°C). Rain showers are possible, but they’re often balanced by plenty of sunshine.
What should I pack?
We'll have a Zoom call about 8 weeks before the trip starts to discuss important logistics and give you packing guidance. In the meantime, here is a great website we love that will help you with packing ideas.
Do I need a visa to enter Austria?
Starting next year or so, travelers from visa-exempt countries—including the U.S., Canada, and Australia—will need an ETIAS permit to visit most of Europe, including Austria. No action is needed just yet. As we get closer to the launch date, likely several months in advance, we’ll share all the details on how to apply. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
What is the activity level of this trip?
This gentle wellness retreat meets us where we are, with activities tailored to different fitness and mobility levels. We’ll have the option to enjoy a scenic hike through the surrounding alpine landscape, but the pace is relaxed, and there’s no need to be an avid hiker to participate. Expect plenty of restorative movement, with flexibility to adjust activities based on individual comfort and ability.
