Overview
Imagine spending days in Venice and nearby areas exploring hidden gardens, peaceful lanes, and grand Renaissance villas while enjoying the region's food, wine, and art. Our Venice home will be a charming palazzo in a locals' piazza from which we’ll take private boat rides along the Grand Canal, visit the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and enjoy evenings with cicchetti, wine, and lively conversation. Beyond Venice, we’ll follow Palladio's footsteps to his architectural masterpieces and experience the Prosecco Hills with wine tastings, picnics, and artisan visits. This is a slower, richer experience than crowded tours—staying in lovely accommodations, savoring regional dishes, and sharing each day with a small group of women who value connection, curiosity, and the joy of travel.

From quiet canals to Prosecco hills
Venice - Beyond the Canals
Venice is shaped by water from the lagoon, with a network of islands connected by canals and bridges. Beyond its famous squares, the city has quieter neighborhoods with piazzas, courtyards, and historic façades reflecting its East-West history.
Inland, the lagoon transitions to the Veneto’s hills and vineyards, where Palladio’s villas blend with the landscape and the UNESCO Prosecco Hills extend to the Alps.

FAQs
When should I arrive?
The trip officially starts the afternoon of May 27. If you’re traveling across an ocean to get to Italy, consider arriving a day or two early so you have time to relax and adjust to the local time zone.
If you do decide to arrive early, book using the option in the Add On section of this page, and we will ensure you stay in the same room once the official trip begins.
Are airport transfers included?
We've arranged a single group transfer from Venice Marco Polo airport on May 27. We will determine the exact time of the transfer once we know the most common arrival time for ladies. If you arrive outside this time frame or prefer a private transfer, we would be happy to arrange it at an additional cost.
Upon departure, we've arranged one group transfer to the airport. If your flight doesn't quite line up with the prearranged time, we'd be happy to book a private transfer for you at an additional cost.
What airport should I fly into?
Fly into the Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), it's the closest and most accessible airport to Venice.
If you're joining us for the post-trip extension, book your onward flights from either Venice Marco Polo Airport or Milano Malpensa (MXP). We will provide transfers to both.
What should I pack?
We'll have a Zoom call about 6 weeks before the trip starts to discuss all that information and give you a packing list. Here is a great website that we love that will help you with packing and travel trips.
What will the weather be like?
Expect pleasant, springtime weather ideal for wandering canals, exploring art-filled streets, and lingering in outdoor cafés. Daytime warmth pairs well with breezy mornings and evenings. A light sweater or scarf will be handy, and a small travel umbrella is a wise addition “just in case.”
What are the new travel requirements for entering Europe?
Beginning in late 2026, travelers from visa-exempt countries, including the U.S., Canada, and Australia, will need an ETIAS permit to visit most of Europe.
No action is needed just yet. As we approach the launch date, likely several months in advance, we’ll share all the details on how to apply. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
What is the activity level of this trip?
We require that everyone traveling with Girls' Guide be able to walk 3–5 miles per day unassisted comfortably, and without difficulty, can navigate stairs, uneven streets or paths, and occasional steep terrain. Most of our trips require this level of physical mobility and fitness, especially when visiting historic towns and landmarks where vehicle access is limited and walking often offers the best experience.
Additionally, some of the 4 and 5-star boutique or historic hotels we stay in do not have elevators and may require climbing stairs to get to your room or access other facilities in the hotel.
