FAQs
Where should I fly to?
You should fly into Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) in Bangkok, Thailand. Our driver will be waiting there to assist you with customs and your luggage before whisking you away to our hotel.
When should I arrive?
The trip officially starts on October 23, but if you are traveling overnight to get to Thailand, consider arriving a day early so you have time to rest, relax and adjust to the local time. If you'd like to arrive early, you can purchase an Arrive 1 Day Early option in the Add-ons section.
What will the weather be like in late October and early November?
In late October and early November, Thailand’s weather is generally warm and becoming more comfortable as the rainy season ends. Temperatures typically range from about 75°F to 90°F (24 to 32°C), with humidity starting to drop. In the north, places like Chiang Mai are cooler, especially in the mornings and evenings, making it pleasant for outdoor activities. In Bangkok and central Thailand, daytime temperatures usually sit around 80°F to 88°F (27 to 31°C), which is great for sightseeing. In the south, you can expect warm beach weather, though brief showers are still possible early in the period.
What should I pack?
We'll have a Zoom call about 8 weeks before the trip starts to discuss important logistics and give you packing guidance. In the meantime, here is a website we love with great packing tips for the area.
Can you accommodate my special diet?
Over the many years we've operated we've worked with almost every diet or allergy from vegan to lactose-free.
What is the activity level of this trip?
We require that everyone traveling with Girls' Guide be able to comfortably walk 3–5 miles per day unassisted, and without difficulty, can navigate stairs, uneven streets or paths, and occasional steep terrain. Most of our trips require this level of physical mobility and fitness, especially when visiting historic towns and landmarks where vehicle access is limited and walking often offers the best experience.
Additionally, some of the 4 and 5-star boutique or historic hotels we stay in do not have elevators and may require climbing stairs to get to your room or access other facilities in the hotel.
Do I need a visa to enter Thailand?
According to the official government website, all foreign passport holders (i.e., anyone not originally from Thailand) must submit their information to obtain a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before arriving in the country. You can find more information here, and our concierges are always happy to help with any questions you may have.
