Embark on a journey through Central Europe, where three countries unfold like chapters in a captivating story. Start in Dresden, where baroque facades and art museums reflect a city that has rebuilt itself. Nearby, the sandstone peaks of Saxon Switzerland rise dramatically from the forest, a landscape that inspired Romantic artists. Cross into the Czech Republic, where the pace slows and the air softens. At Chateau Mcely, you’ll find quiet luxury in a former aristocratic estate, surrounded by gardens and forest paths, with time to rest, recharge, and enjoy the rhythm of country life. The energy lifts again in Prague, a city of golden spires, riverfront strolls, and centuries-old stories. In Moravian Czech Republic, Brno adds intimacy with vibrant markets, café culture, and surprising architecture. Your final chapter unfolds in Bratislava, where medieval streets lead to a castle with sweeping views over the Danube and across former empires. This thoughtfully designed journey brings together rich history, natural beauty, and meaningful moments, whether a private concert in a palace, a shared toast over dark beer, or a quiet morning in a castle garden. Discover a part of Europe with castles around every corner, where elegance, culture, and connection come naturally.

One unforgettable journey through three countries, where castles, culture, and countryside meet
This corner of Central Europe holds more contrasts than you’d expect. In Saxony, baroque cities sit beside sheer sandstone cliffs. Cross into the Czech Republic, and the land softens, rolling hills, dense forests, and old spa towns tucked between castles and fields. Further east, Moravia brings vineyards and market towns, before the terrain shifts again in Slovakia, where the capital meets the Danube and the three regions quietly converge.

The closest airport to the starting point is Dresden International Airport (DRS), but for travelers coming from North America, the most convenient option is to fly into Frankfurt (FRA) and connect to Dresden by a short domestic flight or direct train.
Since the trip ends in Bratislava, we will do a group transfer to the Vienna International Airport (VIE).
We recommend booking your international flights as two separate one-way tickets - arriving into Frankfurt and departing out of Vienna to home or a major hub such as London, Brussels, and Rome, as there are flights to all of these from Bratislava and then direct flight options home. Connections from Bratislava to Dublin or London are likely your best bets and the quickest routes home to the US or Canada.
We are happy to help!
The trip doesn't officially begin until the evening of May 22nd. However, if you’re traveling across the ocean to get to Germany, consider arriving a day early to relax and adjust to the local time zone. You can easily book this extra night under the Add-On Section on the website, and we’ll ensure that you are kept in the same room you will be in for the trip.
We will have a Zoom call about 6 weeks before the trip starts to discuss all that information and give you a packing list. Here is a great website that we love that will help you with packing and travel trips.
May is springtime in Central Europe, with mild to warm days and cooler evenings. Daytime temperatures typically range from 64°F to 72°F (18°C to 22°C), while evenings can dip to around 46°F to 54°F (8°C to 12°C). Expect a mix of sunshine and the occasional rain shower, so packing layers and a light rain jacket is a good idea.
Beginning in late 2026, travelers from visa-exempt countries—including the U.S., Canada, and Australia—will need an ETIAS permit to visit most of Europe. No action is needed just yet. As we get closer to the launch date, likely several months in advance, we’ll share all the details on how to apply. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
We require that everyone traveling with Girls' Guide be able to comfortably walk 3–5 miles per day unassisted, and without difficulty, can navigate stairs, uneven streets or paths, and occasional steep terrain. Most of our trips require this level of physical mobility and fitness, especially when visiting historic towns and landmarks where vehicle access is limited and walking often offers the best experience.
Additionally, some of the 4 and 5-star boutique or historic hotels we stay in do not have elevators and may require climbing stairs to get to your room or access other facilities in the hotel.
