There is nothing quite like a Provençal village
Provence
Provence, in the sun-drenched south of France, is a region where lavender fields, olive groves, and vineyards stretch across rolling hills beneath a backdrop of limestone cliffs and medieval villages. Bathed in golden light that has inspired artists for centuries, it’s a landscape that feels both timeless and alive.
Rooted in a history shaped by ancient Greeks and Romans, Provence retains its past in hilltop fortresses, Roman ruins, and old markets. From herbal scents carried by the Mistral wind to the pastel-colored stone villages, Provence embodies rustic elegance and French charm.

FAQs
When should I arrive?
The trip officially starts the afternoon of October 19th, but if you’re traveling overnight to get to France, consider arriving a day early so you have time to relax and adjust to the local time zone. If you decide to arrive early, you can select Arrive 1 Night Early in the Add-ons section.
Are airport transfers included?
Everyone will be arriving at different times, and since it's easy to get into Paris, we haven't included the cost of private airport transfers to the train station in the trip.
When you land in Paris, simply take a cab or an Uber to the Gare de Lyon station after collecting your luggage. They are clean, comfortable, and readily available at Charles de Gaulle airport, and will happily take you to the hotel or train station.
What airport should I fly into?
You should fly into Charles de Gaulle (CDG) or Orly (ORY) International Airport. Both offer simple access to the city center of Paris.
What should I pack?
We'll have a Zoom call about 8 weeks before the trip starts to discuss important logistics and give you packing guidance. In the meantime, here is a great website we love that will help you with packing and travel tips.
What will the weather be like in October?
October in Provence brings mild, pleasant weather with plenty of sunshine and fewer crowds. Daytime temperatures typically range from 60–70°F (15–21°C), while cooler evenings dip to around 50°F (10°C)—perfect for cozy dinners and strolling through golden vineyards or colorful markets surrounded by autumn’s soft light.
What are the new travel requirements for entering Europe?
Beginning in late 2026, travelers from visa-exempt countries—including the U.S., Canada, and Australia—will need an ETIAS permit to visit most of Europe. No action is needed just yet. As we get closer to the launch date, likely several months in advance, we’ll share all the details on how to apply. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
What is the activity level of this trip?
We require that everyone traveling with Girls' Guide be able to comfortably walk 3–5 miles per day unassisted, and without difficulty, can navigate stairs, uneven streets or paths, and occasional steep terrain. Most of our trips require this level of physical mobility and fitness, especially when visiting historic towns and landmarks where vehicle access is limited and walking often offers the best experience.
Additionally, some of the 4 and 5-star boutique or historic hotels we stay in do not have elevators and may require climbing stairs to get to your room or access other facilities in the hotel.
