Overview

Before the sights come into focus, Morocco speaks in subtler ways. It’s in the soft sweep of a broom across a courtyard floor, the distant call to prayer at dawn, the steam rising from a cup of mint tea. This journey is designed to immerse us in those details, to explore Morocco not just through its monuments but through its rhythms, its textures, and the quiet beauty of daily life. We’ll begin in Casablanca with a taste of cosmopolitan Morocco before continuing to Rabat, the country’s understated capital where wide boulevards and Andalusian gardens reveal a more relaxed rhythm. In the mountain town of Chefchaouen, blue-washed walls glow under shifting light, inviting us to wander without agenda, to pause for fresh cheese and local crafts, and to share lunch in the home of a welcoming family. In Fez, we’ll step inside one of the world’s oldest living medinas. This is a city that resists easy description, filled with contrasts, craftsmanship, and a sense of daily devotion. We’ll explore hidden workshops, visit sacred sites, and try our hand at pottery and cooking alongside those who keep these traditions alive. For those who wish to continue, our extension to Marrakech opens another chapter. Here, history and creativity converge in lush gardens, vibrant souks, and galleries tucked behind unmarked doors. We’ll spend a day in the High Atlas Mountains with an Amazigh guide, learning about life in a village where the past is not preserved in glass but lived. This is not just a trip to Morocco. It is an invitation to experience connection, continuity, and culture in motion.

For those who wish to continue their artistic endeavor, there’s the opportunity to join a painting session where master artisans will guide us through traditional Islamic and Moorish design techniques.

In the afternoon, we’ll enjoy a cultural immersion with a Fassi family. We'll try on traditional Moroccan attire, receive beautiful henna designs, and take part in a photo session to capture the moment. A homemade lunch will follow, filled with the warmth and hospitality of local life.

Departure Day

Post-Trip Extension - Day 4: Thursday, November 11, 2027

Today, we must bid farewell to our new friends - it's been a fantastic trip!

You have two options for booking your return flight. Flying home from Marrakech is the most convenient way because we're already in Marrakech, and the airport is just a short drive from our hotel. However, if a round-trip flight to/from Casablanca works better, we'll arrange for your return there.

Note: The drive back to Casablanca is approximately 4.5-5 hours long, so please book a return flight that departs in the evening to ensure you have plenty of time to arrive at the airport, check in, and go through security. If your only option is an earlier flight home from Casablanca, we recommend spending the night in Casablanca and leaving the following day. We can arrange for you to spend the night at Le Casablanca Hotel.

Whatever route home you choose, we'll drive you to the airport and ensure that you're comfortable with every aspect of your return trip.

Reviews

Just back from Morocco with Girls Guide to the World. I was seeking solo travel to a place I had never been and wanted to delve into culture, history, flavors and get local while feeling safe and relaxed. This was just the ticket. Girls Guide took care of all the logistics and hit all the bases. We saw the highlights and got to experience local culture as well. The trip was well organized while also allowing for some flexibility in the schedule. I loved it and highly recommend. - Kerry O, Denver, CO

I cannot recommend highly enough my travel experience to Morocco with Girl's Guide. As a working mother of small children, it was gift to just sit back and experience/enjoy as opposed to working through every nitty gritty detail of an adventurous trip. Every choice made by Girls' Guide in terms of dining, accommodations, and how we spent our precious time was luxurious yet also respectful and inclusive of the culture. I was especially appreciative of the additional thoughtful focus on supporting female owned businesses and non-profits/charitable entities that provide support to local women. I just cannot wait to go on the next trip with Girls' Guide--my only problem is choosing where!! - Leigh S, Roanoke, VA

I had an exceptional experience on my trip to Morocco with Girls Guide. The planning and guiding were executed with a keen eye for detail which made some of our adventures on this journey truly magical. When the group absolutely loved a destination, we asked to stay a bit longer. Our wish was so easily granted! Our guides were wonderful and knowledgeable and made us feel safe and welcomed to his country. Beatriz P., Melbourne FL Due to the resources and knowledge held by our host/guide this trip was effortless for me and full of memorable happenings and lovely pictures.

FAQs

Fly into Casablanca International Airport (CMN).

For the return, if you're not joining the post-trip extension, you can also fly out of Casablanca International Airport (CMN), which is about a 4-hour drive away from our final stop. Because of the long drive, it's best to book a flight that departs in the late afternoon or evening.

If you are joining the post-trip extension, you can fly out of Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK) or take a 3-hour drive back to Casablanca Airport (CMN).

The trip officially starts on October 31, 2027, but if you're traveling overnight to reach Morocco, consider arriving a day early to relax and adjust to the local time zone. You can also join an optional pre-trip extension in Casablanca if you'd like to explore this fascinating city.

We'll have a Zoom call about 8 weeks before the trip starts to discuss important logistics and give you packing guidance. In the meantime, here is a great website that we love that will help you with packing and travel trips.

In November, Morocco offers pleasantly mild weather that’s ideal for travel. Days are generally sunny with temperatures ranging from the low 60s to mid-70s Fahrenheit, while evenings can be cooler, especially in the mountains and Fez. A light jacket and layers will keep you comfortable as we move between coastal cities, hilltop villages, and historic medinas.

Presently, as a U.S. citizen, you do not need a visa to visit Morocco for tourism stays of up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended travel dates.

We require that everyone traveling with Girls' Guide be able to comfortably walk 3–5 miles per day unassisted, and without difficulty, can navigate stairs, uneven streets or paths, and occasional steep terrain. Most of our trips require this level of physical mobility and fitness, especially when visiting historic towns and landmarks where vehicle access is limited and walking often offers the best experience.

Additionally, some of the 4 and 5-star boutique or historic hotels we stay in do not have elevators and may require climbing stairs to get to your room or access other facilities in the hotel.

Visit our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page to see answers to most other questions about traveling with Girls' Guide to the World.
