Day 1

Welcome to Peru - a land of rich culture, breathtaking landscapes, and unforgettable experiences! 

Our private host, eager to extend a warm welcome and ensure your journey starts smoothly, will greet you as you step off your international flight.  

Once you've collected your luggage, the host will help you with any necessary airport procedures and swiftly guide you to the Costa del Sol Wyndham, our hotel for the night.

The Sacred Valley

Day 2

We head for Lima Airport after breakfast for a morning flight to Cusco. Don't miss the chance to appreciate the snow-capped Andes from the air.  

We'll be waiting when your flight lands in Cusco to whisk you off to the Incas' enchanting Sacred Valley

Our first stop is the awe-inspiring archaeological ruins of Pisac amidst the magnificent Andean mountains. Immerse yourself in the fascinating history and architectural wonders of this ancient Incan site.

Lunch is at the Hacienda Sarapampa. You're in for a tantalizing journey through authentic Peruvian cuisine. The hacienda is a family business, delivering a unique learning experience on a working farm.  

We continue our Sacred Valley exploration with a visit to the Inkariy Museum. Here, a captivating blend of history, art, and culture showcases the achievements of the ancient Andean civilizations.  

As you wander through the halls of the Inkariy Museum, the guide provides captivating insights, bringing to life the stories and legends that shape this extraordinary land. 

After a day filled with exploration, discovery, and culinary delights, we'll return to our fabulous resort, the Tambo del Inka Resort & Spa, to relax, reflect, and savor the memories of an unforgettable day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. 

Tonight, we dine on-site at Hawa Restaurant. Tuck in and enjoy the scrumptious farm-to-table dinner.

Huaypo, Maras & Moray

Day 3

Our adventure starts at Huaypo Lake after breakfast today. This gorgeous lagoon, perched high in the Andes, provides the neighboring communities with water. Its deep blue waters reflect the stunning view of the hills and mountains. We'll paddle around the lagoon in sea kayaks, a graceful ride showcasing nature in all her glory.                 

We'll enjoy lunch outdoors before we head to Maras. Maras presents a captivating tapestry of salt-crusted terraces surrounded by the picturesque Peruvian landscape. This is a hidden gem that has endured for centuries. As we approach, a kaleidoscope of vibrant hues unfolds before our eyes. Appreciate this work of art, as water flows through an intricate network of waterways and evaporation pools that have been in continual use since pre-Incan times.  The ancient tradition of salt extraction connects the present with the echoes of a bygone era. 

The next treasure is in Moray, an archaeological site shaped like an amphitheater. The Incas used this site as an agricultural experimental station. The precision and artistry of this ancient construction will amaze you

Huayafara & Casita Huarán

Day 4

Today, we'll explore the natural paradise of Lamay. We'll visit a community that participates in the "Sustainable Lamay" project to uncover the local life & customs. Here, we'll participate in an agricultural task and discover native plants, crops, & traditional tools/techniques. 

Next, we're off to Huayllafara, where the vibrant traditions of rural Peru come to life. We'll learn traditional farming techniques and savor farm-to-table authentic Peruvian cuisine crafted from fresh ingredients harvested from the surrounding fields. 

At the end of the afternoon, we'll head to Casita Huaran, where youth seek new work and educational experiences. Casita Huaran nurtures personal development where children are encouraged to explore their talents, passions, and interests. The impact of Casita Huaran extends far beyond its walls. By supporting these children from the highlands, the project is planting seeds of change within their communities.

We'll return to our hotel for an evening of culinary delights at the resort's restaurant.

Ollantaytambo & Machu Picchu

Day 5

Our guide will pick us up after breakfast and share the fascinating story behind the perched fortress of OllantaytamboThese ancient ruins boast colossal stone terraces, intricate stonework, and a rich historical tapestry. As you explore this archaeological marvel, you'll be captivated by the imposing stone walls, the meticulously carved temples, and the awe-inspiring grandeur that permeates the site. 

Later, we'll head to the train station for a Vistadome service to Machu PicchuWander the hallowed grounds where history meets mystery, and immerse yourself in the sacred energy that pulses through every stone. As the sun rises over the terraces and temples, you'll move into a realm of wonder and transcendence. Machu Picchu beckons you to embark on a transformative journey where the echoes of an ancient civilization reverberate through time. Discover the magic, unravel the secrets, and let the spirit of this extraordinary sanctuary leave an indelible mark on your soul.  

At the end of this visit, the guide will lead you back to Aguas Calientes so you can check into the beautiful hotel, Machu Picchu Pueblo Inkaterra. Dinner is at the hotel's restaurant.

Machu Picchu Citadel & Return to Cusco

Day 6

Today, you can explore Machu Pichu for a second time. 

Machu Picchu is truly a one-of-a-kind destination. Its remarkable architectural beauty, breathtaking mountain setting, and the air of mystery that surrounds its purpose make it a treasure unlike any other. Exploring the ruins and experiencing the majestic views from this ancient Incan city is a remarkable and unforgettable experience. Afterward, you will have time to explore and hike Machu Picchu Mountain.  

After time on your own, we'll proceed to the Sumaq Hotel downtown for a tasty lunch. Afterward, we'll board the bus to Aguas Calientes for the train back to Ollantaytambo train station and our return to Cusco.   

Bask in the opulence of Palacio del Inka. Immerse yourself in an evening of sumptuous comfort. Enjoy dinner on your own tonight.

Day 7

Today, we'll venture into Sacsayhuaman. Perched high above the city of Cusco, these monumental ruins transport you back to an era of grandeur and mystique. With each carefully placed stone, Sacsayhuaman reveals its enigmatic beauty. Traverse the labyrinthine pathways, touch the weathered stones, and feel the energy of this majestic fortress. Each intricately carved stone in this awe-inspiring complex fits with remarkable precision. 

In the early afternoon, we'll have an exclusive cooking class at a Cusco cooking school with spectacular views of the city. Prepare to unlock the secrets of authentic Peruvian cuisine as our expert chefs guide you through the vibrant flavors and age-old techniques that define Peruvian gastronomic heritage.

We'll visit Saint Peter’s central market to buy the ingredients for the class. Then, the chefs will share their expertise and personal stories, giving you a deeper understanding of the cultural significance behind each creation. Lunch is on the exclusive terrace inside the Lomellini’s house.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy in the marvelous city of Cusco or relax after your adventure-filled day. We'll indulge in a pisco tasting and try some Peruvian tapas this evening.

Day 8

Today, we'll discover Cusco's glorious past! We'll start at Santo Domingo monastery built on the top of the ancient Inca Temple of the Sun. Behold the captivating allure of Qoricancha, an archaeological marvel nestled in the heart of Cusco. This ancient site, once the pinnacle of Inca grandeur, enchants visitors with its blend of architectural brilliance and historical significance. 

We'll stop at a local Peruvian restaurant for lunch before our next adventure.

Later, we'll head to the Cathedral of Cusco to discover the epitome of architectural grandeur and spiritual devotion. The Cathedral's significance stretches beyond its architectural splendor. It holds stories of a city and its people, the triumphs and tribulations, and the merging of cultures and traditions.

We'll to the airport for a flight to Lima after the visit. The first experience in Lima is a tasting tour. Experience the best Peruvian cuisine in a single evening, tasting food and drink and enjoying a walking tour of the Barranco neighborhood. Explore Lima’s chic and bohemian sides, feast on gourmet bites, and discover more about Peru’s culture.  

At the end of the tour, we'll check into the hotel, AC Hotel Lima Miraflores, to immerse ourselves in refined beauty and impeccable service.

Lima

Day 9

Today, we'll take you on a private tour of Lima. We'll start with a visit to the Lima Cathedral to immerse ourselves in its rich heritage and timeless beauty. The cathedral is a captivating architectural masterpiece, a testament to Peru's colonial history. 

Later, we'll visit the outstanding Casa Aliaga to discover a living testament to history and heritage in the historic center of the City of Kings. With origins that trace back to the early days of the Spanish conquest, Casa Aliaga is a remarkable symbol of the city's colonial legacy. 

We'll stop for lunch at a local Peruvian restaurant before continuing our full-day tour of Lima. After lunch, we'll visit the Larco Museum

Founded in 1926, the Larco Museum showcases remarkable chronological galleries, providing an excellent overview of 3,000 years of Peruvian pre-Columbian history. 

Enjoy free time in the afternoon in the wonderful city of Lima. 

Finally, it's our last supper at Lima's finest restaurant, Astrid y Gaston. Its kitchen, led by Gastón Acurio, is manned by experienced and creative young people.  Let's drink a toast to our experiences as we enjoy this fine repast.

You should fly into the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima, Peru. A member of our team will meet you outside customs and escort you to the hotel.

You should arrive the in the morning the day the trip starts at the latest. We fly to Cusco the following morning. If you're flying overnight and would prefer to arrive a day early to rest, relax and get used to the local time zone, we will help with arrangements. 

We will have a zoom call about 6 weeks before the trip starts to discuss all that information and give you a packing list. Here is a great website that we love that will help you with packing and travel trips.
