Overview
From its lively cities to its rich ancient culture, Vietnam and Cambodia will ignite your senses with vibrant flavors, timeless traditions, and breathtaking landscapes. Our trip begins in Cambodia, home to the world's largest religious complex, Angkor Wat. Described as a "Hindu-Buddhist" series of temples, it is the perfect place to watch the sunrise. We'll take a culinary tour of Siem Reap, weaving through the streets in tuk-tuks. Then visit Angkor Thom, known as the 'Great City,' which was the longest-lasting capital of the Khmer Empire. Next, our journey takes us to Vietnam, where history surrounds us at every turn. From museums to architecture, each sight surpasses the previous one. We'll visit Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum, the final resting place of Vietnam's founder, and explore Hanoi in a vintage Jeep to get an authentic feel of the city. We'll spend two days on a cruise ship in Ha Long Bay, renowned as one of the world's most stunning natural wonders. Better yet, we'll experience it directly from the water on a boat, giving us a front row seat to some of the most coveted views. Wake up and enjoy the sunrise over the bay from our ship's balcony, maybe with a cup of tea or coffee. The trip will end on a high note in Hoi An, a shopper's paradise. Shop till you drop and find hand-tailored garments, hats, and beautiful home goods to take home. Will you join us on this vibrant adventure?

FAQs
What airport should I fly into and when should I arrive?
The trip begins in Siem Reap, Cambodia, so please fly into Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport (SAI).
The trip officially starts the evening of December 3, but if you’re traveling across an ocean to get to Cambodia, consider arriving a day or two early so you have time to rest, relax, and adjust to the local time zone. If you decide to arrive early, there's an option in the Add-Ons section to purchase extra nights at the first hotel, so you don't have to change rooms.
What airport should I fly out of?
The trip officially ends in Hoi An, Vietnam. Plan on flying out of Da Nang International Airport (DAD) in Quang Nam Province on December 13.
If you're joining us for the post-trip extension, plan on departing from Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) on December 15.
What should I pack?
We will have a Zoom call about 6 weeks before the trip starts to discuss all that information and give you a packing list. Here is a great website that we love that will help you with packing and travel trips. Don't forget your bathing suit or swimming clothes!
What will the weather be like?
In Vietnam, 70°F and sunny. Rainfall is lowest in January, but be prepared for sprinkles.
In Cambodia, high 80°'s. So much better than the dreary weather we experience here in January. Don't forget your sunscreen and a hat!
Do I need a visa to enter Cambodia and Vietnam?
Yes, a visa is required for both countries. The Vietnam visa is included in the trip cost, but the Cambodia visa is not. You'll need to apply for your Cambodia visa at least a month before we depart. Our concierge is happy to answer any questions about your application.
What is Cambodia e-Arrival?
Cambodia e-Arrival is an online system streamlining the entry process by replacing traditional paper forms for immigration, health, and customs declarations. All travelers must complete the Cambodia e-Arrival form online before landing to speed up the entry process.
You can access it on the official e-Arrival website or via the "Cambodia e-Arrival" app within seven days before arrival. Early access is not allowed.
After submission, a QR code is issued, which must be presented to immigration authorities upon entry. While it simplifies the process, it does not replace visa requirements.
What is the activity level of this trip?
We require that everyone traveling with Girls' Guide be able to comfortably walk 3–5 miles per day unassisted, and without difficulty, can navigate stairs, uneven streets or paths, and occasional steep terrain. Most of our trips require this level of physical mobility and fitness, especially when visiting historic towns and landmarks where vehicle access is limited and walking often offers the best experience.
Additionally, some of the 4 and 5-star boutique or historic hotels we stay in do not have elevators and may require climbing stairs to get to your room or access other facilities in the hotel.
