The trip begins and ends in Oslo, so plan on booking travel to and from Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL).
What day should I arrive?
The trip officially starts on the afternoon of July 11, but if you are traveling across an ocean to get to Norway, consider arriving a day early so you have time to relax and adjust to the local time zone.
If you do decide to arrive early, please let us know in the 'Add-on' section, and we'll handle your hotel reservation so that you don't have to move rooms once the trip starts.
What's the weather like in Oslo & Svalbard in July?
July offers some of the most enjoyable weather of the year in Norway. In Oslo, expect warm, comfortable days with temperatures averaging 70–75°F (21–24°C) and cooler evenings around 55–59°F (13–15°C), perfect for sightseeing and dining outdoors.
Farther north in Svalbard, summer brings cool temperatures of 40–48°F (4–9°C) and the magical Midnight Sun, when daylight shines around the clock, making it an unforgettable time to experience the Arctic's spectacular landscapes and wildlife.

Do I need a visa to enter Norway?
No, you do not need a visa to enter Norway for tourism stays of up to 90 days. Your passport should have at least two blank pages and at least 3 months of remaining validity to travel.
What is the activity level of this trip?
We require that everyone traveling with Girls' Guide be able to comfortably walk 3–5 miles per day unassisted, and without difficulty, can navigate stairs, uneven streets or paths, and occasional steep terrain. Most of our trips require this level of physical mobility and fitness, especially when visiting historic towns and landmarks where vehicle access is limited and walking often offers the best experience.
Additionally, some of the 4 and 5-star boutique or historic hotels we stay in do not have elevators and may require climbing stairs to get to your room or access other facilities in the hotel.
