Paris Fashion: Seen on the Streets of Paris

It wouldn’t be nearly winter without a look at the beautiful coats that grace the streets of Paris—and what wonderful examples of Paris fashion these coats are. I am actually looking for my next perfect coat. I want it to be a statement, and the cut has to be impeccably flattering but interesting. In northern Europe, at least, I think that we are seen in our coats far more often than we imagine—I sometimes remember people by their coats. We look for a familiar coat in the crowd, sit outside cafés in our coats, wear them over party dresses and work clothes, and take them with us on almost every journey.

There are a lot of stunning coats to feast your eyes on right now on the streets of Paris. First up, a fleeting glimpse of a lady in a simple but lovely black coat with fur. This is something Parisians do well: seemingly simple but so well cut that it becomes timeless and elegant.

A woman near the Tuileries in a brown leather coat with sheepskin that she inherited from her mother perfectly combines retro chic with bohemian cool. The blonde in a funky blue wool coat who sat smoking outside a café and the glimpse of a breathtaking woman near the Hôtel de Ville in a red embroidered coat and matching black hat and fur made me smile.

I felt inspired and ready to search for my next coat, almost happy that it is cold enough to wear one—almost.
