Paris Fashion: Seen on the Streets of Paris
Fri 20 Dec 2013
I’ve always been fascinated by Parisian beauty. I’ve used the cult cleanser Bioderma Créaline H20 since I was 15 years old and tried to replicate ’60s Paris fashion icons whenever going to a party. And to my delight, the Parisian beauty myth that I cultivated while growing up in England turns out to be real. Very real, and so inspiring. I’ve documented just a tiny handful of the amazing faces in Paris this winter.
One look that I often see around Paris is the ever-elegant crop. I met one lady tousled to perfection in a Pigalle jewelry shop. Next, I met a girl whose skin was flawless. Before Paris, I used the word flawless to describe skin far too liberally. The skin secrets of Parisian women are a code I’m slowly trying to decipher.
A classic updo and pearls always seems to work here, as does going au naturel like the blonde-haired girl in the Marais. In Paris, beauty starts with skin, and it’s maintained so well that sometimes makeup is just not necessary.
Elegance and beauty—Paris, I salute you!
