Cusco

Pristinely preserved architecture, rich complex history, traditional indigenous population, and a lively night life make Cusco (aka: "Cuzco" or "Qosqo") an enchanting city in Peru's Southern Sierras. Typically the base camp from where tourists make their Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley of the Incas treks, Cusco deserves its own few days on your itinerary.
