The Peninsula is a sleek and sophisticated hotel overlooking Michigan Avenue, right in the heart of Chicago's premier shopping district. I often stay here for business trips and could not ask for a more beautiful hotel, better service, or a better spa and fitness club - that happens to be on the rooftop! Everything is pristine and polished. It's perfect and ever reliable.

While technically considered a "Bed and Breakfast", Villa d'Citta is actually "luxury suites" with private bathrooms and a gigantic, gourmet kitchen in the heart of trendy Lincoln Park. Every inch of it is decorated impeccably; you could spend hours just admiring the exquisite guest rooms and Italian mansion-style decor. Unlike a traditional bed & breakfast, you aren't forced to eat a fattening breakfast with people you don't know. Make your own healthy breakfast, snack or even light lunch in the fully-stocked, envy-worthy kitchen. When you come home from shopping and touring the city, relax on the gorgeous deck and enjoy the hot tub. Staying here is truly experiencing style and luxury. I can't wait to go back!

The Trump just opened a few of its rooms (I think just a handful). And while I haven't stayed I have a friend who did and she absolutely loved it - said the service was great. Like Madelyn though, my rating is based on the design, which I liked but not quite enough to give it above an 8.

I'm not sure if the Trump International Tower is open yet? Last time I was in Chicago it wasn't quite ready. But the design and architecture look fab, which is what I am basing my rating on by the way:)

I love the W in in Chicago. It's a super convenient location and the rooms are obviously amazing as all W rooms are amazing. I love it here and try to stay whenever I am in town.

The public spaces are gorgeous, and the lobby is incredibly hip with a disco ball spinning 24 hours a day. Rooms are incredible, and the service is exactly what you would expect of a W hotel. There is an exercise area, which is really well stocked with machines and personal tvs. The one downside was that the hotel was quite loud at night, with the El very near to the hotel. The heaters were also extremely loud, to the point that it sounded like someone was coming in the room at night when the heater would come on. I stayed here for a business conference, and I was disappointed that the hotel was less restful than I had hoped for.

The Blackstone Hotel is a great hotel, with all the amenities that you would expect from a Marriott brand hotel. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to anyone who asked.

I've never stayed at the Hard Rock in Chicago, but a friend did one time and I went over there to party at the bar and we had a blast. I checked out her room while I was there and it looked super cool. I would definitely give it a shot, especially considering its such a great place to hang out while in Chicago.

Le Meridien is good for a nice reliable place to stay. Nothing too fancy or over the top, but definitely reliable. And the nearby shopping is good as well.

Le Meridien is a very good hotel, but what makes it great is the fact that there is a Nordstrom's right next to it. Perfect for the shopaholic traveler - which I think there are quite a few of on this site!
